  • replacement pavilion curtains: bought the unbleached cotton calico on Sunday on Brick Lane, to replace ugly blue ones, and add panels for more modesty - possibly even to drape around the bed.
  • new seating: hoping to cut out breakdown benches, possibly even sand & seal/paint. My sweetie has been decidedly unkeen on woodwork, because we lack a suitable workspace for setting up power tools. I respond that I want my friends' butts on comfy (or at least passably authentic) seats in the pavilion, and am willing to do the work. We'll see!
  • new gown: red linen gown is looking decidedly well-loved. Hoping to cut out another longsleeve gown w/ trim - machine sewn, but hand-finished.
  • new banner: this is Robert's project - he wants a swallowtail banner to flutter from the peak of the pavilion. Bought cheap lining fabric to try different paints on.
  • 1 scroll, promised for Raglan court.
  • practice 3 hole pipe, with (admittedly distant) hope of playing for dancers. Again, we'll see...
3 weeks and counting!

Too industrious! I'm more at the stage of 'what will fit me by Raglan?'

The silk banners are remarkably easy to make and look great.

Have made them before, and yes, they're lovely, though ours have not proved weatherproof.

Need to find a satisfactory steaming/colour setting process OR a silk painting workshop that has the equipment.

For the pavilion we need something pretty bombproof.

Silk standards will be a project for next summer. Once I hit a rhythm I'd like to paint a lot of pennons for others.

For me for Raglan ... New tent poles and pegs, and a new underdress (must buy linen) and all seams on existing outfit need finishing. Oh, and the sleeves on my overdress need to be re-fitted. That should about do ... I've been gathering in my tourney chests and one of them needs work to make it less ugly ... And perhaps legs.

Hm we just did ours with the iron. So far (4 wars) we've had good luck. I found that prewashing the silk helped.

Otherwise you might try rip stop nylon - it is light and doesn't run.
