One more reason I really ought to put a standing option in when I set up my home office (since I'll be going freelance in ... eek, 15 days now) . Thanks for the reminder.
That very same thingummy was sent to me a few weeks ago by a friend, as well as longish article going on about the same thing. I am now doing a lot more of my work standing up. I find, working at home, that coffee table + diningroom chair + book on history of monastic orders + book on art and architecture of islam = correct height for laptop.
That's really fascinating. With my current situation of earthquake-enforced change of job, I've gone from a workday where I was mostly sitting to my current community library position where I spend most of the day standing/walking around. Apart from a few OOS issues to do with a larger amount of day-to-day book handling, I feel sooo much better overall. Fingers crossed THIS library hasn't fallen over this time - should find out today.
Those are some scary ads! I'm a very restless sitter, I prefer the floor almost always, or to curl and uncurl my legs, feet up on the chair with me Fidgety. And of course in my working life i was a nurse, so sitting never happened. Now there's this damn computer trying to generate bloodclots in my legs! Aaargh!
