Back at my desk today

..filtering 793 e-mails. Thankfully most of them are straightforward deletes.

Since I didn't know I'd be away when I left 2 weeks ago, my last teabag in my teapot went mouldy, as did the coffee grounds in my cafetiere. Takes a robust fungus to grow on acidic coffee!  Ick ick ick.

With the G20 this week, there's this post on our intranet:

Due to demonstrations this week in association with the G20 Summit, The Met Police have advised that it might be appropriate for staff to "dress down" to reduce any risk of being a target for demonstrators whilst travelling to the city. In view of this staff should consider carefully whether any planned visit to [our agency's downtown office] is necessary, and avoid coming here if possible. If you do need to, please note that the front gate to [downtown office] will not be open, access will be via the rear doors only.
