Reviewing my summer pics - visit to Colchester

I'm adding captions to photos from the summer.
Colchester has a splendid small local museum, particularly focused on its Roman history. Lots of artifacts, nice display.

I did a double-take when I came up the stairs to meet this early Englishman fighting a Roman soldier.

I consider it evidence that Menken is period - though evidently the bend sinister hadn't come in yet.

There must be some family history Menken isn't talking about...
