Gilding

Didn't realize you didn't have a muller, it even makes a big difference with the sugar if you grind it separately first:-}

Did you get their glass plates that can be used with the muller? I have a couple from Cornelissen's (I've gone there on my trips and have had friends bring home stuff from their trips... they told me they almost got stopped because of the "bomb making materials" they brought home for me - Fuller's earth, asphalteum along with one of the poisonous pigments) and they've served me very well.

There are these little glass cups (I think they are called dappen - they are used for soaking fingertips when doing a manicure - you can probably get them at a beauty supply shop, though John Neal Bookseller also has them in stock), that have worked really well when reconstituting the gesso and applying it. I've used thick shot glasses, but have small hands and mixing to the bottom is a little tricky.

Hope you enjoy using your new tools:-}

Merry Christmas!
