Any digital camera geeks who can advise me?

My sweetie and I are looking at buying a digital camera.( Can anyone advise us? )

While it's tempting to suggest that the blur in some pics is our breath hanging in the air, I think it's just a camera artifact.

However, it was unheated, and we could see our breath indoors.

Also note the very adorable pic of Fredrick, the little Swede in the splendid red velvet Tudor outfit. He and his baby sister matched! His mum Signe sews beautifully.
